Today I have the ORLY Elsa Collection, a limited edition set that is exclusive to Walgreens. I was excited when I heard about this, though I was a bit confused as I've never seen ORLY products at Walgreens. But, my friend went out and snagged half the set for me, and I went later that day to buy the rest.
The set has 12 polishes each. There are duo packs for $10.99 and single polishes available for $6.99, so buying the duo packs is cheaper, though I think there are only three or four duos packs. My friend purchased three packs and two other polishes for me, so I had to get the single polishes to finish off the collection.
The duos come in really cute packaging, with Elsa printed on the front and "Sister Duo" printed on the base. On the bottom of the packaging ORLY lists the names of each polish.
The sides of the packaging have silhouettes of both Elsa and Anna. I love the boxes, and intend to keep the polishes in them :D
The first swatch I have is "A Happy...Puddle." This is a royal blue creme, very pretty and with a good formula. If you use thick coats, you could get a solid cover with it. I used two coats for this along with Seche Vite for a top coat.
Kristoff He Goes is a bright turquoise creme that is as gorgeous in the bottle as it is on the nails. This had a really great formula with no streaking. I used one coat topped with Seche Vite.
In Summer is a crelly yellow with a reddish orange shimmer. While this is sheer, it was quite easy to apply with minimal streaking (unlike many yellows). I used three coats for this, finished with Seche Vite.
Winter Blush is a bright pale pink with a bit of a blue shimmer. This polish streaked a lot, and it was a bit difficult to apply. This is definitely a three-coat minimum polish. I was disappointed with this one, to be honest.
Watch Out Or Elsa! is a pretty magenta shade packed with golden flecks. I thought the gold had all sunk to the bottom, but there was still quite a bit of it mixed in with the rest of the polish. I used two coats for this, with Seche Vite.
Snow Queen is a white polish with a blue shimmer in the bottle, but not so much on the nail. While this was unfortunate, I was quite surprised by how easily this polish could be applied, without streaking as many white polishes do. I only used two coats for this, finished with Seche.
The first polish in my duo packs is Ice-Solated. This is very sheer and takes a minimum of three coats to cover. I was a bit disappointed with this one as the shimmer is more prevalent in the bottle than it was on the nail.
Paired with Ice-Solated, Warm hugs is a gorgeous coral color with a great formula that is easy to apply. I used two coats for this along with Seche.
Frozen is a gorgeous duo-chrome icy blue with flashes of purple, perfect for it's namesake. This was the most difficult polish to apply, as it took four coats (still sheer as you can see!) with visible brush strokes. Despite this, it's worth the effort. Easily one of my favorites from the collection.
Free Spirit is a bright berry creme with a great formula. This is my favorite of the set, and I intend to use it quite often. I only used one coat for this photo, topped with Seche.
Olaf You Alot is a baby pink creme with a good formula. The first coat was streaky, but the second coat covered any imperfections.
Coronation ball is a fabulous glitter topper that looks like the milky way in a bottle! While this can be layered over another color, I wanted the full opaque look, which took four coats.
All in all I'm quite pleased with this collection, despite the few disappointment polishes. My favorites are Free Spirit, Coronation Ball, Frozen, and Warm Hugs. If I had to pick just one duo pack, it would be the Frozen-Free Spirit pack, but I'm glad I don't have to pick just one :p
Do you intend to pick up any of these limited edition polishes?
