Spellbound Nails review

Hey lovelies,

It's been quite a while since I posted! I hope you all are doing well. What better to return than with a review?
Today, I've got Spellbound Nails' "Carnival Lights" topped over "Hearth Stone."

Jellyfish Manicure!

Hello lovelies!

Today I have a lovely ocean-themed manicure I did this morning.

I did a gradient base for this mani. The dark blue is "A Happy...Puddle" by ORLY, the light blue is "Tiffany Imposter" by Finger Paints, and the pale white blue is "New Birth" by China Glaze. I used a generic triangle foundation sponge to apply the polishes.

For the jellyfish, I used "Pink Voltage" by China Glaze, applied with tools from the Butter London nail art kit. The glitter is "Fairy Dust" as seen in the photo, and, as always, I topped it all off with Seche Vite.

ORLY "Elsa Collection" Swatches and Review!

Hello lovelies!

Today I have the ORLY Elsa Collection, a limited edition set that is exclusive to Walgreens. I was excited when I heard about this, though I was a bit confused as I've never seen ORLY products at Walgreens. But, my friend went out and snagged half the set for me, and I went later that day to buy the rest.

Pretty Serious's "Liquid Leprechaun" Swatch and Review

Hello Lovelies!

My week has been swamped with school midterms and skill exams piled one after another before our college's Spring Break! I'm doing well so far, two A's and one C, but I am totally terrified of tomorrow's skill test :/ But, I do know I'll ace the written portion just fine.

Today I have a review for "Liquid Leprechaun," a Limited Edition St. Patrick's Day polish from Pretty Serious Cosmetics. I've got to say, for being an Australian company, I got my order processed in less than two days and it shipped here within five! That's some quick business for you! I was excited to see this on my doorstep on Monday, after my first set of exams.

I do not know if you've ordered from Pretty Serious, but their packaging is adorable! Your polish arrives in this sweet purple box with their lady logo printed on the back.

Liquid Leprechaun is a gorgeous radioactive green jelly base packed to the brim with gold and green glitter in a variety of sizes. The formula worked really well and was no trouble as I applied it to each nail. One coat covered the nail nicely and allowed for a more jelly appearance, but two coats (as shown) really makes the glitter pop! I applied a coat of Gelous followed by Seche Vite to seal.

You can snag this for a limited time here or browse their other fabulous polishes and cosmetics at http://www.pretty-serious.com/

No-Rub Glitter and Nail Art Remover

Hello lovelies!

I'm here today to review a glitter-removing product. If you are like me, you LOVE glitter and try to incorporate it into all of your manicures (when in doubt, just throw some Fairy Dust on top, eh?). Well, that's well and all, but when it comes to removing it?

What.
A.
Nightmare.

I use the foil method. For those who aren't familiar, it's essentially where you soak a cotton ball in acetone, place it on your nail, and wrap it up in foil. Then, you wait about 5 minutes. It's a pain, cutting out all the strips of foil, trying to wrap your entire hand because who has time to do both hands separately? The struggle...

So, I found out about No-Rub and just HAD to grab it. Walmart carries it for the low, low price of $3.88. That is a great price for this little product. These were my results.

Welcome to The Polished Pirate!

Welcome to The Polished Pirate!

Thanks to the encouragement of some awesome ladies, I decided to make a blog dedicated to my nail obsession. I plan to do swatches of different polishes from both mainstream and indie sellers, review any  polish-related products, create some nail art tutorials, and share the wonder of polish collecting! Please always let me know if you have something you would like to see or something you would like me to review.

Thanks for stopping by to support my blog :D
